Is it time for another Clynelish? Yes please! This Clynelish 12 year old is bottled for the Friends of the Classic Malts. Although limited released in 2009, you can still find it in a few shops, but you have to look good.
This Clynelish has matured in European oak sherry casks and was bottled in 2009 at 46% ABV.

Clynelish 12 year old tasting notes:

Nose: Fresh fruits with some pear, apple. Peat and waxiness but quite thin on the wax. Some more fruit like oranges and a faint sweet smell of caramel.
Taste: Wax. A thick mouthfeel and quite easy to drink. With honey and some nice fruitiness,  the oranges are really there. Also a nice and gentle layer of smokiness on the palate.
Finish: Oranges a lot of them, pepper and a faint hint of ginger. It dissapears quite fast if you let the whisky breath for some time. The finish is medium long.
It is not your typical Clynelish, but it is a nice young dram. A lot more fruity and less wax than the Clynelish I am used to.
